Society of Aqua Metal Research held 2nd Aqua Metal Symposium in Kyoto

On September 7, 2010, the Society of AQUA METAL™ Research held its 2nd AQUA METAL™ Symposium in Kyoto, Japan.
Researchers from four universities around the world presented significant research achievements. Vigorous panel discussions were held to substantiate the benefits of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ from a medical science perspective.
Potential effects of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ were suggested in the following areas: alteration of neuronal property, enhancement of sport performance in relation to joint range of motion, formation of muscle tiszsue, and application on implant material.
Currently, AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ is used in in-flight blankets used by All Nippon Airways, shoes by Descente, TIMEX watches, and horse blankets used by JRA racing horses.
These research achievements presented at the symposium provide a basis for expanding the application of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ further to include a vast array of product categories.

New possibility of preferable effects of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ on the living body.

AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ has an anti-stress effect - in other words, it provides mental relaxation. But why does a metal have such efficacy? To clarify the scientific mechanism behind AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ ‘s effects, researchers from four universities in Japan, Germany, America and New Zealand formed the Society of AQUA METAL Research in the summer of 2009, and hold the second Symposium in 2010. Here, researchers present the positive research achievements throughout the past year, many publicized in international medical magazines. One such published study was my research on the effect of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ on the modulation of the autonomic nervous system in mice. AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ was found to activate and promote parasympathetic nervous activity, which leads to better sleep. These sorts of results are a key focus of the Symposium, as we explore the potential of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ to improve the quality of life. Good sleep produces a good lifestyle rhythm and maintains our immune systems. Accordingly, we have been investigating the efficacy of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ in insomnia patients using an “AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ room”
with walls and ceiling covered with AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ materials.
Preliminary results showed that the patients relaxed through the activation of parasympathetic nervous system. We intend to study the AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ mechanisms in more detail and publish the results.

“Mode of action for AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ in neurons”
AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ Tape increases processing speed of reflexes and alters neuronal properties of firing and resting membrane potential.

I have investigated and made evident various effects of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ on biomedical tissues such as neurons. One effect was found in an experiment on pain.
When one encounters an external wound, the pain threshold at the injured site becomes oversensitive and/or the memory of the pain is stored in the brain.
By using the AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ tape, subjects were relieved from excessive pain sensitivity and we found that the higher the concentration of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™, the faster the return to a normal condition.
I confirmed that AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ tape also decreased the resting membrane potential in a dose dependent manner. These data suggest that AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ stabilizes the activities of neurons.
These data were obtained from the experiments in mice, but I am also investigating the efficacy of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ tape on humans. An Achilles tendon reflex test was performed on healthy subjects with AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ tape applied on the foot. They received a mechanical stimulus to test the reaction time of their reflexes. The results suggest the reaction time decreases proportionally to the AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ concentration of the tape. In a concentration test, data showed that AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ necklace increased concentration intensity and duration in subjects. Similarly, AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ has shown to work favorably on brain memory.

“Results and New Studies on Tendon Compliance”
Effect of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ Garments on Joint Range of Motion, Impact on Running Performance, and Proposal for Investigations on Tendon Compliance and Marathon Running Performance

Our team investigated the benefit of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ treated sportswear on running ability along with the range of motion in athletes’ joints, muscles, and tendons. The study involved a running test called “Shuttle Run Sprint-Performance Test,” which simulates a soccer game. The subjects included both professional soccer and hockey athletes along with amateur sportsmen.
We observed that AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ improved running speed in sports involving intermittent running. The speed increase was more significant at sports performed at a professional level. Moreover, we have good evidence that AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ increases the joint range of motion, which suggests that it improves muscle-tendon elasticity. Based on those results, we would like to study tendon compliance in detail, specifically looking at muscle-tendon complex in the triceps including the Achilles tendon. We also want to investigate whether AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ affects men and women differently due to their differing metabolic functions, as well as conduct studies to examine AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ ’s effect on recovery times of long distance marathon runners.

Biological capability of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ Up-regulating effect of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ on the muscle cell function, and application of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ to implantation in dentistry.

My professional field of expertise is in metal implants used in dentistry and orthopedics.
I research optimal materials for implant operations, and examine a wide range of materials suitable for use with various human tissues. We have come to understand that AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ has good biocompatibility and improves cell regeneration and function. At first, I investigated the influence of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ on osteoblasts, which build up bone tissue.
I removed osteoblasts from the thigh bone of mice and cultured those on a regular disk alongside a disk coated with AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ to compare the cell growth.
Twice the number of cells adhered to the AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ coated disk compared to that of the regular disk. Furthermore, I found a remarkable effect of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ on the rate of growth of osteoblast,
gene expression and calcium deposition necessary for bone formation.
Similar effects were seen in muscle cells. Remarkably, AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™ also had an effect on the appearance of collagen, a muscle building block.
Through the experiments, evidence was obtained using the scientific method to show new promising possibilities of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™.
However, there are many unknowns about the effects on the living body so it is necessary to continue research in this field.

Relaxant effect of AQUA TITAN™/AQUA-TITANIUM™

In the global market of sports foods, sports drinks have the largest share and are expected to expand their market in the years to come.
I believe the development of sports drinks is extremely important in the support of sports enthusiasts, and I have directed my attention to the usefulness of AQUA GOLD™.
AQUA GOLD™ is made by dispersing gold particles in water but may provide functionality that is different from gold.Accordingly, I developed an animal experimental model to evaluate AQUA GOLD™. First, we divided mice into two groups, which were fed AQUA GOLD™ and tap water, respectively. The mice were made to run, and we began analyzing the mice 24 hours later when they started to experience muscle aches. The experiment found that AQUA GOLD™ helped inhibit the oxidative stress disorder of skeletal muscles caused by high intensity exercise. We also fed AQUA GOLD™ and commercially available mineral water to mice having type 2 diabetes and therefore low insulin sensitivity, and found thatAQUA GOLD™ has a tendency to decelerate the increase of the blood sugar level. I intend to continue my study of AQUA GOLD™'s function to suppress muscle damage and fatigue in future studies.
